Transgender Electrolysis

Dawn was trained by the renowned Sterex Academy, and is experienced in working with transgender clients. She understands what a difficult time it can be during the early stages of your transition and is fully committed to supporting you in every way that she can.

Unwanted hair, however can be a stubborn obstacle and a great source of frustration. You can help overcome it with electrolysis, which has been clinically-proven as the only method of permanent hair removal, and is the only BMA and FDA approved method of permanent hair removal for males transitioning to females.

Typically a transgender who has developed to adulthood with a male body, will have a typical male facial hair pattern and strong, deep-rooted hair. A large amount of treatment will almost always be required, regrowth may be strong and rapid, therefore requiring a large amount of treatment per week to make any progress: 4 hours per week is not unusual, of which maybe half could be spent on regrowth in the early stages.

If you are planning on having gender affirming surgery, it may be necessary to remove hair from the genital area prior to surgery. Genital electrolysis is necessary to ensure that there is no hair present in the transplanted tissue of your new vagina. This removes the risk of infections caused through friction whilst dilating or during intercourse.

This needs to be completed before surgery can go ahead, and therefore it is ideal to begin the electrolysis in plenty of time as it can be time consuming and may even take a year or more. Dawn will work alongside your surgeon to decide on the treatment plan which is required for you.

Living life as your best, most authentic self, takes courage and strength. No matter where you are in your journey of transition, take time to celebrate the beauty you own inside!
